STRANGE DOCTRINES:  Questioning the Watchtower Society's claim to being God's "channel of communication" through a study of its past teachings.

CONCERNING WHERE GOD LIVES

"The constellation of the Pleiades is a small one compared with others which scientific instruments disclose to the wondering eyes of man.  But the greatness in size of other stars or planets is small when compared with the Pleiades in importance, because the Pleiades is the place of the eternal throne of God."

     Reconciliation 1928, p.14

CONCERNING HOW GOD DRAWS MEN UNTO CHRIST

"The Scriptures say that no man can come unto Christ except the Father draw him....The drawing power which the Almighty exercises over humanity is in different degrees.  Some have a strong desire to worship God, others have a weak desire, and others have no desire at all.  This difference is due to the shape of the brain."

     Watchtower Reprints March 15, 1913, p.5201

CONCERNING THE BLACK RACE

"It is generally believed that the curse which Noah pronounced upon Canaan was the origin of the Black race.  Certain it is that when Noah said, 'Cursed be Canaan, a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren,' he pictured the future of the Colored race."

     –Golden Age July 24, 1929, p.702

CONCERNING GOD'S 'STONE WITNESS'

"THE TESTIMONY OF GOD'S STONE WITNESS AND PROPHET, THE GREAT PYRAMID IN EGYPT."

"Its wonderful correspondencies with the Bible leave no room for doubt that the same divine inspirer of the prophets and apostles inspired this 'Witness' also."

     Thy Kingdom Come 1891, pp.313,362

CONCERNING HOW GOD COMMUNICATES WITH JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES

"Jehovah has made the necessary arrangements within his organization to instruct his people, and all recognize that for some years The Watchtower has been the means of communicating information to God's people.... the Lord through his angels sees to it that the information is given to his people in due time...."  These angels are invisible to human eyes and are there to carry out the orders of the Lord.  No doubt they first hear the instruction which the Lord issues to his remnant and then these invisible messengers pass such instruction on to the remnant."

     –Riches 1936, p.316; Vindication III 1932, p.250
